A horizontal band saw ZHL 64 with two heads is intended for sawing of uncut planks, beams, three-edged planks, beams and four-edged planks, beams to any size as needed. No previous sorting of round timber by diameters is needed.
      The band saw machine shall be equipped with a storage deck, a separator of round timber with a mechanism for round timber directing to the band saw table. If the moving saw head – carriage is moved pushing by hands, the band saw shall be operated by two employees – an operator and operator's assistant. The operator's assistant removes the cut material after each sawing.
      If the saw head – carriage is driven by an engine reduction gear, the band saw shall be preferably equipped with the size setting computer and speed adjuster, as well as a remover of the sawn planks and beams and a material distribution conveyor for transportation in three directions. In this variation the band saw machine is operated by one operator. Feeding, separation of round timber and distribution of the material is automatic. All manipulations with the round timber, turning, pressing, levelling, gripping are performed by using hydraulics.
      Quick installation of the first saw cut is performed by using laser. To increase durability of the saw band a preliminary milling tool is used, which removes bark and dirt prior the saw band. The average production capacity per shift is 20-30 m³, provided the net sawing time is 7h, by 50 min./per hour.
