HORIZONTAL BAND SAWS
A multi-head horizontal band saw is intended for cutting of 2-edged, 3-edged and 4-edged beams into planks or beams of any size. When cutting thin planks with thickness 5÷15 mm, the band saw machine shall be equipped with the reversal conveyor that will automatically direct the uncut material back to the repeated processing. The band saw machine is equipped with a safety system in a case of rupture of any band. In a case of sudden rupture of the band material feeding stops. For setting of the necessary thickness each saw head is positioned individually. The sawing thickness may be set quickly by using a computer. Behind each saw head pinch rolls are located, which are driven by hydraulic engines. When the process of cutting the beams is ongoing, the beams are located on the conveyor band driven by a hydraulic engine. Behind the last saw head there is a remover of the uncut material, which is directed to the reversal conveyor. The multi-head band saws may vary, from 2 up to 10 saw heads. Upon the customer's order each second saw head may be inclined, thus obtaining specific V-type finishing planks. In standard variations width of the material to be cut is from 50÷150 mm, 50÷200 mm, 50÷300 mm, 50÷420 mm. Height of the beams to be cut is 250 mm. Multi-head separable horizontal band saws have narrow way of the saw band: 2 ÷ 2.2 mm, therefore comparatively with the disc saws the quantity of chips is small. Multi-head saw machines are highly productive.
For an example: The 6-head sawing machine can cut 40÷42 m³ of planks per shift, with thickness 15 mm, width 100 mm and length 3000 mm.
When sawing is performed by using the 8-head band saw and processing 20 mm thick planks with width 150 mm and length 3000 mm, 100÷110 m³ of planks may be cut. Max. length of beams is 6200 mm.
